Lençóis Maranhenses

We are suspects to answer this question. We are paulistanos (from São Paulo, capital) and we love the climate here. We spend 20 days here and 40 in São Paulo, all year round. From July to September is the so-called high season, fuller lagoons, vacations and more tourists. Higher rates. From October to December the lagoons are still with water and plenty of wind, kitesurfing season. Less tourists. Mid season rates. From January to March the full lagoons are a little more distant, the wind is inconstant, there are fewer tourists. As the village has beach, rivers and dunes, there are other tours to do besides the lakes. From April to June, it rains more, it is always hot, there Is always some perennial lagoon. It’s time to relax, the village is very empty. It’s always hot. For those who want to make a retreat, meditate and meet with nature.

The pousada

According to the feedback we have received from our clients, our differentials are the welcome of the staff, the space and structure of the cottages, the proximity between them preserving the privacy with the garden. The transfer service that we offer is also a differential.

Our ingredients are local, including seafood. We have a typical Maranhão menu and the kitchen team is all from Atins. We always look for quality of flavor.

Yes, and also thinking about the welcoming of those who come from abroad, we offer a transfer service so that people can get to know as much of the village as possible.

Initially it was planned a beach house, then we planned the other cottages for friends who asked to go there. All designed by ourselves with proximity and privacy in mind. Lots of space and comfort. We try to accommodate all wishes, with air conditioning, fan or natural ventilation.

Hot shower, hygienic shower, safe, minibar. Electric kettle and coffee machine. Chaleira elétricas.

Relationship with the locals

We develop partnerships with local businesses, bars and restaurants, kite schools, massage therapists, manicures, landscaping, contractors, beach huts.

Charme arrived asking permission, making friends, understanding the transformation that the village was going through. We sought out the residents’ associations to contribute to the entities that support young people, women, and people in need.

In local businesses we tried to encourage development. We made contact with businessmen from other countries, with Brazilian businessmen, and with native Atins businessmen.

We try to join forces to find sustainable development solutions to preserve the destination.

We were also welcomed by the community and everything was developed together. Because they are artisans and do it very well and also because access to Atins is difficult.

We prefer to work with everything local, including people. And interfere as little as possible with nature.
